Last day in Ptuj?

So, it's saturday, I've had a blast! Last night, I went to see the open stage show, and it was great, still not as good as last years show, but very good. The first open stage show was really bad, but they really took a step up and made it better!

There was also a Cabaret show(?) which was very good, I snapped a few pictures of it. The only problem with taking too many pictures is, that you miss the actual show :/

After the Open stage show, I went to the Firegarden where there was a chillout tent with groovy music soft carpets and hot Chai. I wish I had brought my sleeping bag, beccause I fell asleep and woke up when it was all over at 5 in the morning

Sunshine

I was writing a long post about how mz back still acked, and how the sun had finally decided to take hold of Slovenia and Ptuj.

But then my connection died on me, and I was forced to reboot the computer, I had saved the text on the desktop but it got deleted when I restarted :( So instead I'll just post this neat picture I took in the Firegarden last night.

Now I'm off to enjoy the sun again, maybe have an icecream.

Back pain, rainy weather, rainbows

I've had serious back pains for some days now, it really takes some of the fun out of Juggling when you can hardly walk straight :(

Also the weather have been less than satisfactory, it's been raining for a few days now, but today seems to bring sun, so I'm off soon.

Rumpelstiltskin

I've spent all night in a tent at the campsite where Rumpelstiltskin the nonsensical Pixie performed a very absurd show. He kept at it all through the night, fueled by beers from the audience.

Very late in the morning, something happened (I had gotten my sleeping bag and slept through most of the nights show) He took a jumprope, lit it on fire, and jumped it, on his unicycle! it was quite spectacular.

Later when I woke up again, he was still at it, I thought the last people had gone a 5-6 in the morning, but new people had come! Rumors said he would do a 25 hour show, and I'm going back soon to see if he's still at it!

UPDATE: I came back to the camp at nine in the evening, and he was indeed still at it, 1½ hours later, he was done! 25 hours on stage, and he still hung around for a couple of hours to see the cabaret show!

Monday Procrastination

I don't really know what happened, but I've slept all monday, maybe I was ill or maybe just sleepy...

I had gone to bed late but woke up feeling quite rested. Then I went to town, found a music shop who was open, went back to camp to get some Tolars, and bought some earphones for 500 Tolars (about 15 DKR) So I could finish the third Discworld novel "Equal Rites" on Audiobook. I then went to the gymhall and lied down and finished it, trying not to fall asleep (because the book was exiting, and a was sleepy, not because the book was boring) After I had finished it, I slept some more, until I finally woke up at 8 in the evening, headed back to camp, met a nice guy from Leeds, had some fried chicken with him by the river and finally went back to the camp.

USB cable (finally)

At last I have gotten what I should never have left home without. A USB cable connecting my camera to the computer here at the student Internet café in Ptuj. Actually this would have never happened if I had just brought my huge (capayity wise) 1 GB SD card instead of leaving it in my Laptop. Or if I had just bought a cable when I had the chance (fx when I bought the tiny 128 MB SD card)

But none of this matters now, I think I will go and revise all my previous posts to include pictures where appropriate, and also write a little about what has happened since last time I wrote.

Firefox in Slovenia

Seems like there´s free Internet access everywhere in Slovenia. And Everywhere I´ve seen Internet access I´ve also seen Firefox :)

Enter Ptuj

Yesterday we got on a train that took us to Ptuj, the ticket was only 2040 Tolar (~65 kr.) and the train had coupe´s like the old trains in Denmark.

We then walked to the EJC and got picked up by some very efficient german people in a large van.

The campsite is not really done yet, but there´s already a bigtop filled with people juggling. I did a lot of passing and a lot of staring at the talented people. Seems like everybody is doing what I´m just about to learn.

I found this wonderful free internet cafe for students in Ptuj, but unfortunately they didn´t have a mini-USB connecter to my camera :( so only some 4 pictures left. Signe if you´re reading this, I desperately need that SD card, could you make sure it gets here ASAP?

Anyway I˝m off to find some breakfast and hopefully my bathing shorts which I accidentally left at the wonderful waterland they have right next to the campsite.

Exit Ljubljana

Last night was a blast. After I had slept all day yesterday, we went to a bar in town. Very nice place I think, it was right up to the lake, and you could sit outside and enjoy the evening. Behind the DJ was a big screen that showed strange movies, like how bees are made, and snails making love. I was mesmerized, but got jerked out of my zen-like condition by the others.

With some nice french people from the hostel, we went to this amazing place. There was 4 different buildings one had a Band playing, and the others were just different flavors of music. It reminded me of Christiania, outside a DJ was turning records, and a lot of people were playing with fire. I have to see if I can somehow put some of the pictures I took here.

We had an fantastic time, and I'm looking very much forward to getting my own firestaffs and firepoi. We went to bed a 6 in the morning, grateful that the Emerald river super splash had been canceled due to a broken bus. otherwise we would have had just one hour to sleep.

Anyway, now we're off to find a train that will take us to Ptuj and the EJC

Ljubljana day three

I'm so tired.

Seems like I've spend most of the day sleeping. I first woke up a little past 7 in the morning, had breakfast, said goodbye to some German girls, and went back to sleep.

Then I got back up at noon and went downtown where I bought a 128 MB SD card that I really hope works with my Canon Ixus 50 camera, since my 1 GB SD card is supposedly still inside my Laptop at home. If anyone sees this please ask Signe who's the only one who has a key to my apartment to check her mail.

I then proceeded to find Magnus without even trying, we're so predictable, both of us. I saw a funny looking street and just had to go down there, then I saw a funny looking shop selling juggling gear and went in there, and off course Magnus was there!

We lugged around the rest of the day, I bought the biggest hotdog I have ever seen, but must admit the ones in Iceland was much better, albeit somewhat smaller. We bought more peaches, from a lady who seemed very frustrated that I had touched the peaches(!) I wanted soft peaches and this was apparently the only way I could get them. Also we bought some bread and cheese for dinner, which was good.

Oof enough rambling, I better get out there and snap some pictures of Magnus and the guys, I have a plan to take some nice pictures of people in postcard size and have them developed as postcards and use them to send home to people, instead of the normal boring ones you get here.

Ljubljana day two

Yesterday, we went out to see Ljubljana. Me and Magnus went up a small mountain and saw an old castle and had some very cheap but very good peaches.

Then we all had a wonderful lunch at a sushi restaurant vith a clumsy waiter and went home.

Then people slept a little and then we went out, the other guys went to town, while we contemplated what we wanted to do, because we had seen a folder about some Super adventures. We wanted to go on the two day trip because it would save us money when we didn't have to buy food and hostel for a night, but it was all full, so we opted for the Emerald River Super Splash on Saturday.

Then we went back, but before we got to our room, we found some german girls. Well long story short, I got to bed at around 4 and just woke up at 07:20

Now Magnus is poking me and telling me to come to breakfast, but it's not very good, although very free.

Ljubljana

So ve just arrived at the hostel in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

We decided not to go to Berlin since the plane to Slovenia left from the same airport some 10 hours after we arrived. Instead we just slept in the airport, and noone bothered us. When we arrived we took the bus to Ljubljana and walked to the hostel.

Slovenia seems nice, and people are very friendly, the hostel has free internet so I'll probably be updating my blog often while I'm here.

I've allready spent 10.000 of the local currency mostly due to the fact that I bought an officer cap that surprisingly fit my big head.

Blogging in Berlin

So a short note here from some airport in berlin where we have to spend the night.

I forgot my SD card at home and if I want to take any pictures I kinda have to get a new one :(

Otherwise I think I got everything. Just need some more jugging gear but I´ll get that once we get to the juggling convention in Ptuj.
